Matt is joined by former LSU and NFL safety, Ryan Clark for the entire first hour of After Further Review to preview the LSU vs Alabama game. Clark compares this year’s game to Rocky IV in another spot on movie synopsis.
Game breakdown begins in segment two. How does LSU’s defense slow down the dynamic offense of the Crimson Tide?
“Tackle, run, pursue,” Clark said. “The gameplan in this game is actually pretty simple. When you play teams like Alabama who do what they do, they don’t try to trick you. You know what is coming out of certain formation. Sixty percent of Tua’s passing yards come after the catch.”
Safety, Grant Delpit hasn’t practiced since the week of the Auburn game after injuring his ankle in the second half. Coach O said on Monday that Delpit would be a full go for Saturday. Has Clark heard anything on the situation?
“I haven’t spoken to him this week, but from all signs this week he looks good to go,” Clark said. “When he’s gone, you notice it.”
How big of an impact will the absence of Michael Divinity have on LSU’s defense?
“I think he’s a huge loss from a leadership standpoint,” Clark said. “But this team has played games without him this year. It hurts from a depth standpoint. From a personnel standpoint I believe we are set if we are healthy.”
