In hour one of After Further Review, Matt begins by recaping LSU’s 37-10 victory over Georgia to claim the SEC Championship. The league title is the Tigers’ first since 2011. Quarterback Joe Burrow was again spectacular. Cornerback, Derek Stingley had perhaps his best game of a dominate freshman season. The dominant gave LSU the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff final rankings.
Segment two of the show revolves around the committee’s final playoff rankings. Most believe they finally got it right with LSU at No. 1, Ohio State at No. 2, Clemson at No. 3 and Oklahoma sneaking in at No. 4.
Ed Orgeron is among the six finalists for the George Munger Coach of the Year Award.
“It’s really hard for me to imagine Ed Orgeron not winning that award,” Matt said.
Matt takes you around the SEC with stories on Ole Miss, Arkansas, Missouri and Auburn. Ole Miss, Arkansas and Missouri all hired new head coaches over the weekend. Matt gives his take on these new hires.
Finally, Matt closes out the hour giving a brief recap of the Saints’ 48-46 loss to the 49ers.
