In hour one of After Further Review, Matt recaps Coach Ed Orgeron on the SEC football coaches weekly teleconference. Matt’s big takeaway is comments Coach O made about tight end, Stephen Sullivan. When LSU reported to camp this fall Coach O compared Sullivan to Jimmy Graham. This comparison drummed up a lot on interest in Sullivan.
“When you compare someone to an All-Pro tight end, that’s going to a lot of attention,” Matt said.
Two games into the 2019 season and Sullivan does not have a catch. Orgeron on the teleconference today said if they can’t fit Sullivan in at tight end they will play him at receiver. Matt thinks this will even prove to be difficult because if you plays receiver who’s reps does he take?
“It’s kind of clear Thad Moss has beaten him out at tight end,” Matt said. “I think it is going to be tough to find a spot for him at this point.”
LSU’s new offense is catching rave reviews from everyone nationally, and the top high school recruits are no exception. Geaux247’s Shea Dixon joins Matt to break it down.
“The reaction has been way more than what I thought,” Dixon said.
Matt goes around the SEC with stories on Mississippi State, Mizzou, Ole Miss and more.
Matt reacts to the NCAA response to the California legislature passing the student athletes name and likeness bill.
