In hour two of Off the Bench, Jordy and T-Bob are joined by Jimmy Burrow to talk his son’s most recent performance at Texas. Joe Burrow led the Tigers to a victory, throwing for 471 yards and four touchdowns.
“It was a great night for Joe, the Tigers and our family,” Burrow said
Joe Burrow is on fire to start the season having now claimed back to back SEC POW honors. The eldest Burrow says Saturday is the best he’s ever seen his son play.
“I’ve seen him play well, but under those circumstances it’s the best I’ve ever seen,” Burrow said.
Burrow talks about the similarities in this offense to the one his son ran in high school. Burrow points to this as a huge factor in Joe’s success even going as far as to say they are running some of the same plays.
The LSU defense has taken a lot of heat for their performance on Saturday. It has some wondering if they can maintain elite status playing with this offense. A former defensive coordinator himself, Burrow talks about the adjustments made when he was at Ohio University, and they went to a spread offense.
“You just have to be ready to defend more plays,” Burrow said. “It’s just something you have to get used to. I’m sure Coach Aranda and the players will adjust to it.”
