In a vote today at the LHSAA’s annual convention it’s members voted in favor of a Select/Non-Select playoff format for basketball, baseball and softball. These sports were added to the format in addition to football, which has used it for the past 3 postseasons.
The proposal which was authored by Many Principal Norman Booker passed by a vote of 182-20 and will go into effect for the 2016-2017 season.
“It’s terrible” said Todd Black of Louisiana Prep Weekly this morning on “Sports Today” when asked if despite the fact that the majority voted in favor of the continuation and expansion of the select/non-select format was a good decision.
“Theres rules in place to correct people who are breaking the rules, but someones got to turn them in for the process to take place”, Black added.
