In hour three of After Further Review, Matt is joined from Mobile, Al at the Senior Bowl by CBS Sports draft writer Chris Trapasso. What is the biggest surprise so far this week in Mobile?
“Probably Justin Herbert being here. It’s reminiscent of Carson Palmer coming down here when being thought of as a high draft pick,” Trapasso said.
LSU is well represented at the game. Who has stood out the most so far from LSU?
“Probably Lloyd Cushenberry the center. He was a late add, and I got a late start watching his film because of that,” Trapasso said. “In the first day of practice Lloyd Cushenberry was the best interior blocker on his team. He’s intriguing to me because he has the opportunity to be the first center off the board and start as a rookie.”
Matt resets the latest with the LSU Football coaching search including the candidacy of Bo Pelini.
Matt gives a brief preview of the big game in the PMAC tonight between LSU and Florida.
Former LSU and NFL quarterback Rohan Davey joins Matt to recap the LSU Football season. The Tigers defeated Clemson 42-25 to claim the 2019 National Championship. Davey recaps the LSU win.
“Perfection. It went exactly how I thought it would go. We didn’t put up less than 40 all year,” Davey said. “Venables came out with some new stuff as we thought he might, but it only took two series of Joe and Joe and Steve to figure it out.”
Davey says he was surprised that Clemson didn’t changed defensive strategies when LSU started having success on offense.
“The thing that surprised me about Clemson was they never changed anything,” Davey said. “I guess they figured it would be enough to get a couple stops.”
