In hour one of After Further Review, Matt talks the great news of former LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Dorsey, the most decorated defensive player in LSU history will be a part of the 2020 class. Matt also takes this as an opportunity to stump for Dorsey’s No. 72 to hang in the Tiger Stadium ring of honor.
The New Orleans Pelicans head to Sacramento tonight for a game with the Kings. ESPN’s Andrew Lopez joins Matt to preview the game, and also talk the impact of CoronaVirus on the NBA. Is the NBA going to play games in empty arenas?
“We are certainly trending towards that now,” Lopez said. “The Golden State Warriors have already announced they are out on fans. Adrian Wojnarowski just tweeted that the NBA is looking for ways to move forward without canceling the season as a whole.”
On the floor this is a huge game for New Orleans because the Kings are also fighting for the 8 seed in the West. How do the Pels and Kings matchup?
“This one is a good matchup. The only other time they have played this year the Pels blew a huge lead,” Lopez said. “This is a game that the Pels should win. They are the favorite. Your starting lineup has been really good. It’s the second best starting lineup in the NBA based on NET ranking. The other thing is they have been crushing under .500 teams.”
Matt goes around the SEC with stories on Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State and Tennessee.
Breaking News leads off the final segment. Mark Emmert has decided that the NCAA Tournament will be held without fans.
