In hour one of After Further Review, Matt reacts to Drew Brees’ new deal with the New Orleans Saints. Brees signed a 2 year, $50 million deal to remain the quarterback in New Orleans.’s Shea Dixon joins us on his birthday to talk the impact of the coronavirus on college recruiting. Where do we stand right now?

“The latest from the NCAA is that they are pausing recruiting until April 15th,” Dixon said. “It’s a ban on in person recruiting. You can still communicate over the phone, skype or however you do it. April 15th is a big day because that’s the beginning of the FBS evaluation period, when teams hit the road and recruit.”

Dixon explains more of the allowed methods that coaches can currently use to recruit. How many kids have Coach O and staff talked to in the last few days.

Matt reacts to Rick Pitino’s return to college basketball. Pitino is the new head coach at Iona.

The SEC announced today that all non-conference, or conference events have been canceled for the remainder of the academic year. This includes any SEC Championships. College Baseball is over.

Former LSU pitcher, now sports psychologist Dr. Bhrett McCabe joins Matt to close hour one. Dr. McCabe is hosting a free webinar tonight for athletes to help through this trying time. What made him want to do this?

“I was getting a lot of questions from players and parents about how to handle the anxiety,” Dr. McCabe said. “When you have athletes who don’t know what to do, you fight and work to prepare for your season, and then it’s gone. What do you do?”
