In hour one of After Further Review, Matt talks the SEC’s decision to allow virtual instruction for athletics. The NCAA meets to vote on eligibility for spring athletes.

Coach Derek Stingley Sr. father of LSU cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. joins Matt to talk his experiences coaching Arena Football in China, and how coronavirus could impact football season. What is being missed the most by athletes not able to currently compete?

“Naturally, the camaraderie you are missing out on by not being around your team,” Stingley said.

Stingley spent a lot of time coaching the AFL in China, including during the SARS and H1N1 outbreaks. Stingley compares those experiences to the coronavirus.

Which league suffers the most from missing time?

“I think the NFL suffers the most,” Stingley said.”Just because of the evaluation periods.”
