LSU’s pitching coach Alan Dunn joined Jordy and T-Bob to talk about kicking off the season and the performance of some of his guys.
“The overall way we played, I thought there were a lot of really good things that happened on both sides of the ball,” Dunn said. “If you were looking at what we did on the pitching side, we were able to get 15 arms in the game, which is critical in this part of the season.”
The play at catcher for LSU has been upgraded tremendously.
“I thought we had a very succesfull weekend with both (Saul) Garza and (Alex) Milazzo and the things they were able to do,” Dunn said. “That just solidifies what you’re trying to do as a pitching staff.”
Jade Hill had an impressive showing during LSU’s third game against Indiana. What did Dunn think of the sophomore?
“The thing that I really liked that Jaden brought was presence and poise on the mound,” Dun said. “It’s like he didn’t miss a beat with his command of the strike zone.”
Finally, Dunn discussed LSU’s approach for their first mid-week game of the year against Southern.
