Former LSU pitcher Alden Cartwright joins Matt in his normal weekly spot to talk some LSU Baseball. The Tigers were no hit on Sunday afternoon vs. Oklahoma. What did Cartwright make of this?
“That’s kind of demorlaizing to be the first team in LSU history to get no hit,” Cartwright said. “What’s even worse is AJ Labas was equally impressive.”
It looks like there are only two hitters in the LSU lineup currently that will hit consistently all year. Is there anybody besides Cabrera and Beloso that Cartwright could see taking on that role?
“I’m kind of coming up empty like you. It’s only going to get harder and harder,” Cartwright said. “Pitching is only going to get better. You see flashes from guys like Doughty and Mathis.”
Jaden Hill did his thing again on Friday night. Cartwright gushes about the Tiger sophomore.
“Absolutely incredible. The Texas coach was right on when he asked, ‘why is this guy in college,'” Cartwright said. “If he is locating his fastball and then has his slider and changeup, good luck.”
