In hour two of After Further Review, Matt is joined by former LSU long snapper Blake Ferguson. Ferguson is one of 16 Tigers invited to the NFL Combine. What’s the transition from college athlete to pro athlete?
“It’s different. This is a cool time, and it’s something that I’m trying to enjoy,” Ferguson said.
Ferguson has been using the hashtag 165 on his training videos. The former Tiger explains the significance of the number to his preparation.
“The highest a long snapper has ever been drafted is 166. I think it’s in the fifth round,” Ferguson said. “I’ve been using the number 165 as motivation. I write it on my mirror.”
If Ferguson doesn’t go at 165 would he consider it a failure?
“No. Absolutely not. I’ve achieved a lot. I’ve achieved a lot more than I expected to,” Ferguson said. “This is fun. All I want to is keep playing football, whether I get drafted or signed as an undrafted free agent.”
Finally, Ferguson talks being a part of the wild ride that was the 2019 LSU Football season.
