Washington Nationals scout and former LSU shortstop Brandon Larson joins Matt to talk the challenge of scouting players for a shortened MLB Draft. What is he scouting with nothing to scout?
“It’s a lot of double checking, triple checking reports and sending stuff in,” Larson said. “Trying to get it down to five rounds. It could be 10, but it looks like it’s going to be five.”
What ultimately will lead to the decision on number of rounds for the 2020 draft?
“I think it’s a multitude of things. When are they going to start the season? Are they going to play minor league games,” Larson said. “The longer we go without knowing something, the worse it’s going to get in my opinion.”
