Coach Ed Orgeron on the loss of Bobby Hebert Sr.

Weekdays 7AM - 10AM

LSU Head Football Coach Ed Orgeron joined Jordy and T-Bob on the pandemic that is taking over south Louisiana and losing his friend Bobby Hebert Sr.

“Obviously Bobby and I were very close friends in college and Mr. Bobby was very influential in me growing up,” Orgeron said. “I know he’s proud of Bobby and T-Bob.”

Next, they discussed his and Joe Burrow’s time recently sitting down with Coach K for his podcast, including the stories they told about recruiting.

“First of all, during Spring practice my son Cody was watch Ohio St spring game at McNeese and he called me and said, ‘Dad you gotta get this quarterback,'” Orgeron said.

LSU has players flying up mock draft boards. When teams call Orgeron about Burrow, what does he say?

“Incredible leader…I’ve said it before…I often think Joe (Burrow) will be as close to the intangibles as Tom Brady has,” Orgeron said.

How has the recruiting landscape changed due to the coronavirus pandemic?

“Its actually better, they’re all home…they’re board,” Orgeron said. “I’m able to talk to recruits all day on the phone.”

Does he think football season is in jeopardy?

“No, I don’t think so,” Orgeron said. “I think we’ll be back to number, hopefully, for this summer.”
