LSU Football Defensive Coordinator Dave Aranda talks about how much their linebacker recruitment has changed and how the Butkus Award winning Devin White had much to do with that. He breaks down who is competing to fill White’s big shoes on the field.
“It was hit and miss,” Aranda said about recruiting. “We’re not missing too much anymore. You can thank Devin White for that.”
Aranda breaks down his current defensive line. He is impressd with the athleticism and how much space they take up. Also, they want to feature them in more one on ones.
Is this the year that LSU’s offense really will change? His biggest take away is how prepared QB Joe Burrow has been. Furthermore, he credits the talented receivers and the amount of backs that are getting out.
“Early on, the thing that strikes you first is Joe Burrow,” Aranda said of the Tigers offense. “There is a calmness, a readiness. Joe is not one who can be easily shook.”
Finally, he talks about the guy we’ve all been waiting for: Derek Stingley Jr. How will he impact this team?
