Frank Wilson talks about building his staff at McNeese State

Weekdays 7AM - 10AM

New Orleans Native and McNeese Head Football Coach Frank Wilson joined Jordy and T-Bob to talk about being back in his home state.

“It’s good to be home,” Wilson said.

LSU Football experienced a once in a lifetime season and Wilson congratulated the coaching staff for letting the team be player driven.

“It was phenomenal,” Wilson said of LSU’s 2019 season. “They were so driven this year in gettting ball to the right people.”

What are the challenges of stepping into a program as a head coach?

“We just have to get quality depth at the quarterack position and continue to recruit well in all other areas,” Wilson.

Coach Wilson is going to have to surround himself with other knowledgeable coaches. He wants to build off of what he’s learned from former coaching jobs and improve the quality of his staff.

“Great teachers, guys who have the ability to take it from the classroom to the football field,” Wilson said. “Guys who know it’s not about what you know, it’s what they know.”

Finally, they discuss being able to watch players he recruited to LSU experience success in the NFL.
