Jimmy Chase on his son, Ja’Marr Chase’s, incredible season with LSU football

Weekdays 7AM - 10AM

Jimmy Chase, father of LSU wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, joined Jordy and T-Bob to talk about his son’s upcoming season.

“I think Ja’Marr has bought into the process,” Chase said.

Chase talked about his son’s decision to come to LSU and why the decision was easy.

“All Ja’Marr wanted to do was catch some balls,” Chase said. “He didn’t look into the depth chart…the conference…he just wanted to play ball.”

Ja’Marr was the winner of the Biletnikoff Award, which honors the best receiver in the nation as a true sophomore.

“When they called his name, we just went numb,” Chase said. “I told his mom, ‘he won, stand up’ and she said I can’t move my legs.”

Chase discussed the recruiting process and how LSU won him over as a father.

“In the recruiting process, the only person who could get to Ja’Marr was Mickey (Joseph),” Chase said. “And then Coach O came in…and he recruited me, more or less.”
