June Jones thinks Joe Burrow is the best college football QB he’s ever seen

Weekdays 7AM - 10AM

Head Coach of the XFL Houston Roughnecks, June Jones, joined Jordy and T-Bob in the first hour. No one’s offense looked as strong as the Houston Roughnecks in the XFL opening weekend. What does he think about his squad?

“I think we’ve got some really good players and good kids,” Jones said. “We’ve got some speed, which you’ve got to have.”

Talent-wise how have these players stacked up to some of the other leagues he’s coached?

“I think it’s better than the USFL was at that time,” Jones said. “I think that a lot of these kids will get into camps on May 1 when we’re done.”

The evolution of the quarterback has gone through a lot over time and he’s seen much of it.

“I think (Joe Burrow) the best college quarterback I’ve ever looked at…I was just blown away,” Jones said. “I think whoever gets him, has a franchise quarterback.”

LSU Football hired a new Passing Game Coordinator, Scott Linehan, yesterday and Jones thinks it was a good decision.

“He is a good one to hire, it’s a tough replacement with the season they had,” Jones said.

Finally, how is he preparing for the upcoming match-up between his Houston Roughnecks and the St. Louis Battlehawks.

“We’re going to get challenged,” Jones said.
