LSU football wide receivers and associate head coach Mickey Joseph joined Jordy and T-Bob to talk about his new role and the addition of some great coaches to the team.
“We understand what LSU means to the people of Louisiana, every game we go out to defend the state. Being from Louisiana you have a little more pride. Coach O couldn’t have done a better job for what we’re doing right now.”
A National Championship run is intoxicating. How do you teach the new players how to climb the mountain from the bottom?
“Our kids always come in to grind,” Joseph said. “They are in here working like we went 500 last year.”
Ja’Marr Chase was recently given the coveted no. 7 jersey by Coach Ed Orgeron. What has Joseph seen from his development?
“With Ja’Marr…the type of kids we get, they’ve been the best player since the age of five,” Joseph said. “Now when you get to LSU we’re asking you to play full speed every snap…so Ja’Marr had to learn that.”
He also talks about the addition of an NFL guy to the room in Scott Linehean and how he works with offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger.
“He’s going to be a great addition,” Joseph said. “Steve is the glue…Steve also does what’s best for LSU…and he wasnts LSU to win.”
