Rachel Baribeau of Changing the Narrative joined Jordy and T-Bob to talk about mental health, especially about the anxiety surrounding Coronavirus. She thinks reminding athletes to remember who they are when they aren’t involved in the structure of every day practice is important.
“What I’m trying to do now is meet the athletes where they are,” Baribeau said. “Constant messages of ‘remember who you are.'”
Baribeau talked about how to approach the everyday anxiety of what is going on with the Coronavirus and being quarintined in your home.
“Whatever you need to do to ground yourself…to remind youself we’re going to be ok, we’re going to get through this,” Baribeau said. “It’s really easy to focus on what we don’t have and what we can’t do, but I’m focusing on…some things I can get accomplished that I didn’t have time for before.”
