Twenty years after the most famous moment in college baseball history, the two men who responsible will meet for the first time. Warren Morris hit a game-winning home run in the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs off of Miami’s Robbie Morrison to win the 1996 College World Series, 9-8. The two men have never met or even spoken. That will change this weekend and fans are invited to be a part of it.
Friday, May 6
5:00pm – Morris and Morrison will join Matt Moscona on “After Further Review” from Walk-On’s on Burbank. Fans are invited to tune in and stop by for pictures and autographs.
7:00pm – LSU-Arkansas, Game 1
Saturday, May 7
Noon – Lunch with Skip Bertman, Robbie Morrison and Patrick Coogan–the winning pitcher of the ’96 Championship Game–at Walk-On’s on Burbank. Fans are invited to come by for pictures and autographs.
6:30pm – LSU-Arkansas, Game 2
Sunday, May 8
Paul Mainieri has invited Morrison to throw the ceremonial first pitch before Game 3 of the weekend series. Morris will catch it. The two men will be on a baseball field together for the first time since 1996.
