Honorary ESPY Nomination

104.5 ESPN Baton Rouge wants to recognize a member of our community with an honorary ESPN ESPY Award. This year, ESPN is recognizing the 50th anniversary of Title IX, so we’re looking for someone here who’s made significant contributions in broadening access to sports for girls in our community. Nominate someone now through Wednesday July 6th by clicking the form below!

We will name our honorary ESPY recipient on Wednesday July 13th. Tune in to the ESPYs presented by CapitalOne on Wednesday, July 20th on ABC/WBRZ-TV.

Nomination Overview

Ideal candidates have broken down barriers in access to sports or sports performance – they could be athletes who have distinguished themselves through their performance on the field, or administrators, volunteers or boosters who have worked to increase access to sports and fitness opportunities for girls and women in the local community.  We’re especially looking for young athletes (high school or younger) who are making their mark in a sport not typically associated with girls, or volunteers/administrators who championed starting a new team or league to provide opportunities for young female athletes where they weren’t previously available.  Of course, we’re always looking for athletes, coaches and administrators who rallied their team to do something for their community, especially in the areas of expanding access and using sports as a way to bring people together.
